The aim of the The Ken Sprague Fund is to commemorate the life and work of Ken Sprague. Ken was an all-round artist who worked in a whole variety of media, but was particularly renowned for his work as a cartoonist and poster designer. What characterised all his output, though, was his dedicated commitment to human rights, justice, peace and socialism. The aim of the Fund is to promote his vision and to encourage young artists to use their art in the furtherance of social justice, peace and tolerance.
The Ken Sprague Fund aims to do this through:
A biennial international political cartoon competition is held to promote the ideas to which Ken Sprague devoted his life ñ social justice, peace and environmental protection.
the organising of exhibitions and the use of other appropriate means to promote Ken Sprague’s work
the organising of seminars on political poster-making and cartoon illustration
The fund is looked after and guided by a board of trustees. These trustees are: Michal Boñcza, Bruni de la Motte, Tony Farsky, John Green, Chris Kaufman, Martin Rowson (Chair), Peter Sinclair, Sam Sprague, Liz Willis.
